Course #3: Craft

Rules, Road Signs, and Guidelines

Craft. This is the romantic essense of authorship... uh, not really. This is the guts. This is the "crack-open-the-sternum-and-dip-your-arms-in-up-to-the-elbows-nitty-gritty-of-storytelling." This is the hard work that will differentiate your creative endeavors from lazy writers who can't be bothered to do the hard work to keep improving.

Talent is great. Many of us have a natural feel for how to weave a story. But when it comes to delivering the content of the story in a compelling and readable manner, nothing surplants hard-earned mastery of the craft. We are talking about rules here, people. Some of these grammar rules are "break at your own risk." Others are "learn them so you can break them masterfully." You have to learn the difference, before your readers inform you of the difference by dropping your books into the dust bin. If you are ready to put in the work, then you've come to the right place!
